Melt My Heart

We had our first snow of the year today! I thought it was only supposed to rain, but there have been big fluffy flakes falling for the last couple of hours.

Honestly, my first thoughts when I saw the snow were not positive.  I started thinking about the hassle of shoveling and the logistics of the whole winter thing.

And then I saw the huge grins on my kiddos faces.
Somehow, I'd forgotten the magic of a first snow.  I'd forgotten that this is really the first winter Audrey can play outside.  Last year at this time she wasn't even walking.  I'd forgotten about all the winter adventures my son had last year, partly because I was usually inside with the baby while the boys (J and his dad) explored the season.

So we changed our plans.  We dug out the boots and the snowsuits.  We found everybody a hat and some gloves.  And we headed out.

Was it a all a bit of pain in the behind?  Yup.  It took longer than I'd imagined to get everybody bundled for the snow, especially since Audrey kept removing articles of clothing faster than I could put them back on.  The aftermath of the adventure is also pretty impressive, my laundry is covered with wet stuff.

Was it all worth it?

Absolutely.

These kiddos of mine really do melt my heart.  My life is so much more fun with them in it.

What a good mom you are. Audrey really got to do what every little one wants to do. Play in the snow. It will be a yearly event for her and I'll bet she does the same thing as you did when she has babies. Yep, that's the way it works.

Have a terrific day. :)

Awww they look adorable in their snowsuits. I still love snow, if I have kids they will learn to love it.

GOod for you for realizing what IS worth the time! She looks darling in her giant snowsuit! We haven't really gotten anything yet.

That's wonderful. And it's something Sprite doesn't get to do, so John's insistence that we bring her to a state that actually has snow so she can experience it is working..

Ha ha! We have 45 degrees and sunny in Michigan. Yes, in Michigan. Tomorrow we may get some snow, though. Take care!

You are much better than I was. It was usually too much of a hassle, so once they were old enough to get themselves bundled....well, let's just say one more piece of ammo for them to use with their therapists LOL
