It's 62 and sunny here today!
I live just outside Washington DC and the average high is 44 degrees according to The Weather Channel. Apparently, Mother Nature forgot it's supposed to be the last day of January.
In a fantastic coincidence my son also had yesterday and today off from preschool because of teacher work days or some similar likely story.
We just spent two hours exploring an enormous park I just heard about. Both kiddos played nicely and had a blast. And then we followed it with lunch out.
I'm probably jinxing the whole thing, but so far today has been amazing.
The kids are happy and cooperative. The weather is so nice I'll probably have global warming nightmares. I successfully took both kiddos out to lunch with no drama and no complaining. They didn't even make a mess or spill a drink. They must have been starving after all the running around.
I even got a satisfying chuck of house work done this morning while my children "helped" me so I don't even feel like a big slacker on our day of play.
At this moment, my daughter is taking a well earned nap and my son is chilling out in front a show (for which I feel absolutely no guilt since he's gotten lots of fresh air and sunshine today).
The big plan for the rest of the day is to meet some friends for a second a park playdate this afternoon after nap.
I even have leftovers for dinner so I don't have to cook.
Best day I've had in a looooong time!
I hope you are having a great day too.
